Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park is a memorial that’s free to the public and offers various educational programs for when you’re ready to take a break from your daily routine. Getting there is now easier than before. You can take the Astoria ferry from Pier 11/Wall St, 34th St, or Astoria if you are coming from up north. ROOFTOP CINEMA CLUB

South Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Date/Time: Sundays 10am-6pm

Cost: Free admission

Event information: Take your experience up a level and head to the rooftop for a cinematic event. The film screening this weekend is Get-Out, a horror movie about a young African American who goes to meet with his white girlfriend’s parents for a weekend. In their secluded estate in the woods, the friendly and polite ambience will give way to a nightmare. If you still haven’t watched this movie you are missing out. So is time to grab some friends and head outdoors for the ultimate experience. Take the East River ferry from Pier 11/Wall St and get off after 2 stops at S. Williamsburg. VISIT THE FAMOUS ROOSEVELT ISLAND LIGHTHOUSE

Event information: The Roosevelt Island Lighthouse is a 50-foot-tall lighthouse located at the northeast of the island. Go visit, take a selfie, look at the city from the island and take a minute to relax. Its easy to get there – and no, you don’t need to drive. You can now take the Astoria ferry from 34th St or Pier 11 and you will get there in under 30 minutes. If you are from north Queens, catch the ferry at the Astoria landing. SOCRATES SCULPTURE PARK

Astoria, Queens

Date/Time: Monday – Sunday

Cost: Free admission

Event information:  This Long Island City park is home to seasonal exhibitions of impressive sculptures  from a slew of internationally renowned artists. The NYC Ferry (Astoria Route) will take you there for 2.75 and in under 1 hour. Get outdoors and meet new friends while looking at these stunning sculptures.

DUMBO BOULDERS WEEKEND

Dumbo/Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn

Date/Time: All weekend 9am –  9pm

Cost: $25 Day Pass, first visit free

Event information: DUMBO Boulders is North America’s largest outdoor bouldering space. You can take the South Brooklyn or East River ferry from Pier 11/ Wall St, or catch the boat at Midtown 34th St.

Seaport Music Festival

Seaport District NYC – Pier 17, Fulton St. and Front Street

Date/Time:Sept. 7-10th

Cost: Free

Event information: This festival returns for a 15th anniversary edition that includes concerts, dancing, film screenings and comedy sets on the downtown waterfront. Take the NYC Ferry to Pier 11/Wall St ferry landing and turn right as you walk towards Fulton St.
