The holiday season is right around the corner and New York City is starting up the festivities. Ice skating is a popular past time during the holiday season, so now is the time to take advantage before the crowds start rolling in. If you do happen to go on a crowded day, don’t forget to ask about any specials the ice skating rinks may have. Ride with NYC Ferry to the fun on the ice!

The Rink at Rockefeller Center has officially opened for the season! Ice skating sessions are 90-minutes and costs between $25- $33 with an additional fee of $12.50 for skate rentals if you don’t bring your own pair. You are able to avoid the long line by purchasing their First Skate deal. This deal includes a guaranteed reservation, complimentary skate rental, and hot chocolate or coffee for $55- $65. The Rink at Rockefeller Center is a 27-minute walk from our E 34th St. landing, which is a hub for our Soundview, Lower East Side, East River, and Astoria routes.

Although there is free admission, there is a $20 fee for skate rentals, if you don’t bring your own. Avoid lines with their Express Skate and Reserved Skate packages. The Express Skate package is $30 and includes skate rental while also allowing you to skip the line. The Reserved Skate package is $55 and includes skip the line access, skate rental, and bag check. The Bank of American Winter Village is a 23-minute walk from our E 34th St. landing, which is a shared landing for our Soundview, Lower East Side, East River, and Astoria routes.

This skating rink is larger than the Rockefeller Center rink and you have additional things to do inside Brookfield place. When you’ve had enough of ice skating, you can head inside Brookfield Place to do some shopping, grab food, or visit one of their rotating art exhibits. Skating sessions are 90-minutes with a $15 admission fee and $5 skate rental fee. The Rink at Brookfield Place is an 18-minute walk from the Wall St.- Pier 11 landing, which is shared by all of our routes.
