Winter Lantern Festival: Journey to the East | Now – January 8th

Let the light in this holiday season! ✨ The fourth annual NYC Winter Lantern Festival is back – and newly re-located just steps away from our St. George ferry stop! Step into the magical world of light and explore the wonders of over 1000 Chinese lanterns; all handmade by artisans.  Purchase tickets here.

 

Friends of Corlears Hook Park Holiday Festival | December 11th, 4-5:30pm

One sure way to get into the holiday spirit: decorating! ? Join Friends of Corlears Hook Park as they celebrate December holidays and winter season by decorating the park. The holiday festival will include provided decorations for the winter season, arts & crafts to create your own (weather permitting), and holiday treats for the kids! Greenpointers Holiday Market | December 11th, 1-7pm

Greenpointers’ favorite holiday tradition has returned for the first time in three years – and you’re invited to join in on the fun! ? LIC Lights Up | December 13th, 4pm

⛴ Astoria Route | Long Island City

A comeback like no other… holiday lights have returned to Long Island City! ? Join the Long Island City Business Improvement District and The Chocolate Factory Theater for an evening of fun to celebrate the return of holiday lighting throughout the entire district. Festivities include storytelling by Allison Guinn, carolers from SING LIC, music from the Sam Trapchak Trio, and complimentary hot chocolate and treats. More information here.

 

Brooklyn Heights Promenade Annual Tree Lighting | December 14th, 5:30-6:30pm

?Brooklyn Heights Garden Club (Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights Promenade)

NYC Parks and the Brooklyn Heights Garden Club present the annual lighting ceremony of the Brooklyn Heights Tree! ? Free and open to the public – more information here.

Greenpoint Holiday Lighting | December 14th, 6-7pm

Be a part of the newest holiday tradition in Greenpoint! ❄️ Join the North Brooklyn Parks Alliance for this lighting ceremony that includes caroling by the Greenpoint Children’s Chorus, hot cider, and warm donuts. More information and a link to add to your calendar here.

 

Chanukah on Ice | December 18th, 2:30-5pm

⛴ Astoria, East River, Soundview, South Brooklyn, Rockaway Routes | Wall Street/Pier 11
?The Ice Rink at the Seaport and the Heineken Riverdeck at Pier 17

Four words: lights, dreidels, latkes and music. The Seaport‘s annual Chanukah Menorah lighting is back for an afternoon of fun! Hosted by the Jewish Learning Experience, Chabad of Wall Street, and the Howard Hughes Corporation, the celebration will feature festive music, ice skating, and performances by local artists and a children’s choir. Festivities include Chanukah crafts, face painting, an ice menorah carving, traditional treats, and a light parade beginning at 4pm. RSVP here to confirm attendance and learn more.

Chanukah Concert | December 18th, 4pm

Get into the Chanukah groove with some live music and more. ? Chabad Upper East Side is hosting a concert with Soulfarm Band that includes latkes, hot chocolate, donuts, and a Menorah lighting ceremony! Tickets available here.

 

Selfies with Santa | December 14-18 and 21-24,  Hours Vary

Governors Island Winter Village | Now – February

Head over to Governors Island for all the winter vibes! ? The Gov­er­nors Island Win­ter Vil­lage in Colonels Row now features fun activ­i­ties for vis­i­tors of all ages, including an ice skating rink (open Thurs­day-Sun­day & all NYC Depart­ment of Edu­ca­tion holidays), fire pits & lawn games (Thursday-Sunday), sled + bike rentals from Blaz­ing Sad­dles daily, and food from Lit­tle Eva’s avail­able daily!
