It is officially the 2020 holiday season, and New Yorkers are finding unique ways to safely celebrate, shop, and get in the holiday spirit while socially distancing across the five boroughs. One new shopping opportunity easily accessible via NYC Ferry – the event’s official transportation partner – is the Red Hook Holiday Market, which will run from Saturday, December 5th at 10:00 AM through Sunday, December 6th at 6:00 PM and is presented by the Red Hook Business Alliance. Complete details are available at this link.

At this new event that is certain to become a local tradition, the Red Hook Business Alliance will offer holiday shoppers a brand new experience, the Red Hook Holiday Market, to discover Red Hook’s vibrant community of home-based businesses, brick and mortar shops, and restaurants while exploring the historic waterfront neighborhood.

The Red Hook Business Alliance, initiated in 2019, represents the diverse business community of manufacturers, retailers, restaurants, bars, artists, professionals, and non-profits across Red Hook. Their mission is to ensure the economic vitality of the Red Hook community and the preservation of one of NYC’s most dynamic and unique waterfront neighborhoods.

The Red Hook Holiday Market includes more than twelve outdoor locations along or nearby Van Brunt Street. Each location will have multiple local artisans and chefs, and many include a hot food or drink giveaway. Participating locations include BWAC, Red Hook Pilates, Pioneer Works, Jam’ it Bistro, Brooklyn Ice House, Realty Collective, Red Hook Lobster Pound, Cora Dance, Ecotone, She-Weld, Hyssop, and Portside New York, which includes live music performed by members of the Sunny’s Saturday Night Jam community, from 1:00-4:00 PM on Saturday, December 5th. Visitors will also take part in deciding the best of the Holiday Market, as they will vote on the best two items at the end of the weekend. The winners will receive gift cards from participating Red Hook Businesses.

“We are excited to present the 2020 Red Hook Holiday Market so that local residents and visitors alike can support and experience the vibrant, creative, and diverse shopping and dining offerings of the Red Hook community this holiday season,” said Red Hook Business Alliance member and event coordinator, Ashley Taylor from RE: GEN: CY event center . “We’re proud to call Red Hook home, and this unique, outdoors, and socially-distanced event will show what makes Red Hook so special while supporting our local mom-and-pop businesses.”
