You can still take a trip to Rockaway for some fun in the sun, but for your safety, the beach is closed from Beach 91st Street to Beach 102nd Street due to erosion. Other areas of the beach remain open, along with the entire boardwalk, all concessions, and restrooms. The closest beach access is available at Beach 86th and Beach 103rd Streets.
NYC operates Rockaway shuttle for your convenience to access different point of Rockaway beach. Please check the NYC Ferry app for route and shuttle updates or visit ferry.nyc.

Looking for a way to keep the kids occupied this weekend take the Rockaway route for free lawn games, a play area, and a reading area. Summer fun will be open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm through August 26, 2018.
