New York Junior League at Corlears Hook Park

Join the New York Junior League’s Playground Improvement Project (PIP) to help beautify and improve Corlears Hook Park, home to our future stop on the LES route launching later this summer. Volunteers create safe, beautiful, well-organized, and educational play spaces for children and other members of the New York City community, and they need you to help garden, landscape, renovate, as well as make general improvements. PIP partners with the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, as well as corporate and community volunteers, NYJL volunteers, neighborhood citizens, children, and families. There are many Saturday and Sundays available.  Sign up here!

HarborLAB and Hunters Point Parks Conservancy

HarborLAB, an educational boating group in LIC, just got a new home base. Cap off Earth Week with a celebration of HarborLAB’s inclusion in the new Hunters Point South development!

12PM sharp: Meet at HarborLAB (53-21 Vernon Boulevard) outside the Circus Warehouse. They’ll walk you through the vision for this site.
1215PM: Walk up to the new Hunters Point South boat launch at the end of 2nd Street.
1225: Hunters Point South Launch. They’ll share their vision for the coming boathouse, with great thanks to City Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer, Gotham Organization, RiseBoro, NYC EDC, NYC HPD, and NYC Parks.
1250: Walk to COFFEED LIC Landing to meet with the park clean up crew!

1-3PM: Join the Hunters Point Parks Conservancy and HarborLAB for a shore cleanup near our Hunters Point South stop. Volunteers are invited afterwards to Skinny’s Cantina for a margarita! Please email [email protected] with the subject “Hunters Point South Park cleanup” to register for this event.
