June Bug Jazz Series 

This June the North Brooklyn Parks Alliance is partnering with the Jazz Foundation of America for the first time to bring free jazz to your neighborhood park. Every Thursday throughout the month, you can enjoy a sunset concert as part of the Jazz Foundation’s Gig Fund. This Thursday the summer June Bug Jazz Series begins with some smooth Jazz from Rafik Williamson Quartet in Transmitter Park. Take NYC Ferry’s East River Route to Greenpoint and buzz on over to some light starry jazz in Transmitter Park.

Rafik Williamson has been a professional pianist for 58 years, having played with greats like Hank Mobley, Lou Donaldson, Archie Shepp, and Pharoah Sanders. Rafik has toured the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean, and Japan. He is an alumnus of the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music.
