What is International Coastal Clean up?

On Saturday, September 21, NYC Ferry is teaming up with the Bronx River Alliance and partners to collect and remove trash out off Soundview’s shoreline.  Join the International Coastal Cleanup fight for trash-free seas, take NYC Ferry’s Soundview Route to Soundview.

The three locations on Roosevelt Island:

    • Group Check-in 8:30 AM
    • Individual Check-in 9:00 AM
    • Snacks and refreshments provide
    • Gloves and trashbags provided

The International Coastal Cleanup began more than 30 years ago, when communities rallied together with the common goal of collecting and documenting the trash littering their coastline. The movement was catalyzed by the passion and spirit of two committed individuals. Back in 1986, Linda Maraniss moved to Texas from Washington, DC, where she had been working for Ocean Conservancy.
