Celebrate Spring with our team and build oyster cages and reef structures for upcoming Hudson and Queens reef installations!

Volunteers work alongside Harbor School students and teachers to build oyster cages, prepare recycled shell for seeding, sort and count baby oysters, and much more. Every volunteer day also includes learning opportunities, Q&A with project staff, and tours of BOP hatchery.

Directions
To Governors Island:
Arrive at 9:45am to board the 10am ferry to Governors Island from the Battery Maritime Building, 10 South St.
Meet at Harbor School’s MAST Center located at 134 Carder Road, Governors Island

After departing the ferry, do not go up the hill. Instead take a left following the water. The MAST Center will be 5min walk down the pathway.

Back to Manhattan:
You can take the 1:30pm ferry from Governors Island
WEAR: Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and wet

BRING: Reusable water bottle & bagged lunch
