Valentines Day Live Figure Drawing

Looking to spend your Valentines Day in an artsy way? Travel via NYC Ferry to draw a live figure model at the Plaxall Gallery. Take NYC Ferry’s Astoria or Lower East Side (LES) route to Long Island City. Draw from a live nude model, have a free drink and listen to cool music in a beautiful 12,000 of art gallery.

No judgments. No skeptical eyes. Open to everyone.

 

Come anytime and get down to business with many shorter timed renditions that are sure to improve your skills, from whatever level they are:
25 minutes of 1 minute poses, 25 min of 2 minute poses, 25 minutes of 5, 10, working up to 20 minute long poses.

When you only have a minute or two to sketch the entire figure, you don’t have time to worry what it looks like, you are forced to just draw without judgment. It loosens up your eye and your hand so you can create and see more freely. You will make dozens of drawing, so bring enough paper and get ready for the workout.

Suggestions:

 large, cheap newsprint pads and medium charcoal sticks, so you don’t have to stop to sharpen anything, but any medium that works for you is game; pencil, markers, watercolor, crayons…
